Eila J. Ellington Gould

Ellington Gould, Eila J.

It was fun interacting with Eila at RHS. She was a special lady and so much fun.

Julie McCray - 10/1/2012

Sam,

I was so surprised to see that we lost Eila! She and I started our second "second go-round" at RHS the same year and spent many wonderful years working for School Dist. 25.

Eila was special and will be missed by all. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

In friendship,
Joanne Jeffres

To the family of Eila j. Ellington Gould; i am deeply saddened by the passing of your mother. you have my deepest sympathanies and know that as a former student in some of her first class's teaching at RHS many in her class's came to know love and appreciate her for her knowledge and her manner of teaching. She spent many hours and days working with Mrs. lois Sackman in directing plays, readings, and the teaching of English to us uninformed Wyoming students.. She will be missed by all and again i give you all the sympathy for any family.. thanks again for sharing her with all of us, especially out of the class of 1966.

Ms Ellington was a very excellent English teacher! My freshman English class at UW was a joke - so much more was taught by Ms Ellington and far more long lasting lessons.

Hey Sam, Tom, and Harper,

We were saddened by the loss of you mom. I know your mom thought it was pretty neat I helped her with her car issues when she was here for your guys wedding. I was hoping to help out more if she moved out here.

Trust me when I say you have family here in Boise that will help you with WHATEVER you need. Also, there is a great deal of support amongst friends here. I know there are plenty of poeple willing to take a road trip to Riverton to help take care any outstanding items that may need to be moved or whatever. We are here for you. As an only kiddo too another, your in my thoughts.

Love you

Hey Sam,Tom & Harper,
So sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. It isn't easy to go through this, just lean on all your family and friends. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. I know it must seem overwelming at times, but just take one day at a time. If there is anything at all we can do to help, please let us know. Remember one problem and one day at a time.

Dear Sam, Tom, and Harper, I am so, so sorry for your loss and wish that I could be there to hug you all. Your mom was an incredible teacher and inspiration to me as a writer and communicator, and it was such an honor to have her as a teacher (and my friend's mom!). I am truly grateful for the service that she gave as a teacher and mentor, and will have fond memories of her classroom (and how she giggled when Jeremy and I once read something in a Shakespearean voice). When I think of your mom, I think of these words:

intelligent
delightful and kind
serious, with an unpredictable side
light, airy laughter
ironic and funny!
talented
caring
beautiful
loving
dedicated
important
inspiring
forever.

I wish so much that I could attend the service and help you to celebrate the incredible woman that she was. Her light lives on in you and Harper...and all of us whose lives she touched.

Much love, Alyson

Alyson Schiller Muzila - 10/2/2012

Sam,

I am very sorry to hear about your mom. She was my favorite teacher at RHS, and I will never forget the time that she surprised me with the "copy man" skit from SNL. Who knew Ms. Ellington watched Saturday Night Live? I also was never so happy when she called out my brother Tom to my mom at Parent Teacher Conferences. It pleased me to know that at least somebody knew that my brother "skated by" with his grades. Your mom instantly gained my respect when I was an 8th grader because of this.

Your mom was always fair and commanded the room as a teacher. I don't know that anyone taught the Odyssey of Homer better, as I still think back about that unit in her classroom. She was such an amazing teacher and lady. I remember always being in awe with her vocabulary when I would sit in her room and hope that I could one day could ever sound half as intelligent. She touched many lives as a teacher and I know that she was also an amazing mom. She will always be remembered by those who appreciated her for the remarkable lady she was.

Dear Sam,

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. She was an incredible individual who positively impacted countless lives as a teacher, and we feel fortunate that our formal educations included a year in her classroom. It was an invaluable experience.

Thoughts and prayers,

Sam and famiy,
I am saddened by your loss. I know your mom was a phenomenal woman. I enjoyed her in class and getting to know her outside of the class as well. Sending prayers your way that you may receive comfort in your sorrow. As others have mentioned, she will be missed by many. She touched so many lives in a positive way. Wish I could make it to the service.

I am so sad to hear about the passing of Mrs. Gould--my heart is with you, Sam. Mrs. Gould was a great, old school teacher. Strict, but fair. She kept me in line! And I respected her very much. (She would likely correct me for starting a sentence with "and".)

Mark Robbins - 10/3/2012

I had this wonderful teacher when I was in school. She was a great teacher and she never gave up on you. I am glad to have been a student of hers. My prayers go out to her family.

Candice - 10/3/2012

Eila was a great person and a wonderful teacher. I knew Eila through my work at the Group Home and my husband worked with her at the High School. She was so good with the boys she had in her class that were from the Group Home. She will be missed. My prayer to out to you all. Stacey Doerr
