Jake Korell

Korell, Jake

Good bye, neighbor Jake.

It was a hoot to know you, listen to your stories, to engage a world that is gone forever.

Happy Trails.

Jake was a wonderful man. We enjoyed listening to his stories. As much for the enjoyment as for the life lessons learned from them. He will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to all of the family.

I didn't get to spend a lot of years or days with Uncle Jake, but I thoroughly enjoyed his "tall tales". He knew how to keep your attention.
If he had a bucket list, it was surely emptied years ago & probably filled many more & emptied again.
He was very good at all he did & most of all had a very good family. I know he will be missed by so many as I know my children & their families that knew him will. I have missed him for many years even though I haven't been able to be around him.
My prayers are with all the family

At his 90th birthday party, Uncle Jake told me he was middle-aged. I asked him how many people he knows who make it to 180 and he said, "Oh, I probably will." Uncle Jake, you might not have made it to 180, but you crammed 180 years worth of living into 98. I love you and miss you. I feel privileged to be your niece.

Kathy (Korell) Rose - 3/9/2013

Jake will be missed by many people. He was always up for an adventure and had so many wonderful stories to tell. He had a kind soul and a heart of gold. He taught our boys how to trap, skin and mount their bounty. He was a wonderful neighbor to us for many years and we will miss him. I will miss him very much.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

It was an honor to have known Jake. Loved all of his stories and hearing about his adventures in life. Not many people live a life that was as full as his was! He will be so missed around Riverton but he will never be forgotten! R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that Wyoming has lost an historical icon. He was a great man, teacher and friend. Spoke with him a bit last Friday and he was rearing to go on a wolf hunt. My sincere condolences to Jane, Jerry and families and you have so many memories and stories to carry on

Sorry for your loss. Tom and I have a lot of special memories of your dad. Thinking of you all at this time of sadness.

Jane,
Your dad was an amazing man! I'm sure he and my dad are telling stories together for eternity.

Carolyn Hunter - 3/13/2013

Just by happenstance, I learned tonight of Jake by watching a British series on bushcraft that happened to feature this Blessed and Fascinating man.

To know that he continued for some years after that amazing display of Human Potential Realized that was this good and great man, one who it would have been an insult to call spry, is a great joy.

And, through your of course estimable grief, it is my wish for those who had the gift of actually knowing and loving him that your joy is only momentarily dimmed by his passing.

A life Well Lived, Indeed.

I am lucky to have come upon him in time to also give a note honoring him and consoling you as I look forward to reading and leaning more about Jake.
