May his memory be eternal!

My deepest sympathy to the family of this remarkable man. He was a compassionate and fair jurist on the Shoshone and Arapaho Tribal court. I was privileged to know him and serve as a tribal prosecutor to his court. I will miss him and his wonderful sense of humor. Rest well.

Dear Family of John Warren,
I had the pleasure of working with John from 1973-1983 at St. Stephens Indian School. He was my mentor and school board president at the time of transition from changing the mission school to a tribally operated school under the auspices of the BIA. He and many others helped to obtain funds for the construction of the new St. Stephens Indian School. John was an excellent board president exhibiting much wisdom and intellectual acuity mixed with delightful humor that created a great working relationship with me and our staff and the community. I found John to be a very spiritual man who had great faith and trust in the Great Spirit. He was such a great example of faithful leadership and respect for all people. May John's family be comforted in knowing we are all better persons for having had John in our lives in some way. May John be at peace while celebrating life in a new way without pain and suffering.
With sympathy and prayers,
Sister Joyce Durosko, IHM
Former Superintendent of St. Stephens School

I have very fond memories of representing clients in Tribal Court in front of Judge Warren. He embodied many qualities I consider a very good Judge to have, especially fairness and willingness to hear all sides before reaching a decision. It was my honor to work before him. His soul will rest peacefully in Heaven. God bless his family. Peace!
