Hearley Dockham

Dockham, Hearley

Words cannot express my sympathy to all of you. Hearley was such a wonderful man and I consider him one of my dearest friends. I loved to visit with him and see his smile each time he stopped by the office. He will be missed by so many in this community as he was such a generous man and all around great guy. I know his faith was strong and we will meet again, but until that time comes, Rest in Peace my friend. Prayers for Joyce and family for peace and comfort at this sad time.

OH My I only heard of Hearley. I am so sad and express my sincere sympathy for Joyce, and family. I never saw Hearley and Joyce in recent years. There are some people that may cross your path in life and leave behind knowledge you did not have before including an addition to my faith.

Hearley was one-of-a kind in the very best sense of the term. He was tender-hearted and compassionate. He was so funny. On Tuesdays, nine of us would meet in Ethete for breakfast. Hearley made the experience very special. He was always so glad to see us.

He often said the blessing before we ate. I won’t forget his unique voice or well-chosen words as he began, “Our Heavenly Father as we approach the throne of Grace we thank You ….”

I cannot feel sorry for Hearley today. He is having the best day of his life. I am sorry for those of us who will miss that unique voice, those well-chosen words, and especially the quick wit.

Karla and I are so sorry for your loss. I am sure you all remember that I worked for Hearley and Joyce when I was in Highschool and enjoyed it as I learned so much. I still miss your mom's cooking! Even the scrambled brains she snuck on me thinking they were scrambled eggs! I also will never forget that one of the girls could out eat me in sweet corn! I think it was Jenny the youngest! Your dad was a good man with a strong faith in Christ! I know where he is and look forward to seeing him there some day! Karla and I send our deepest sympathy to you all and especially to your mom! May God comfort you and give you wisdom and peace in the days ahead!

It has been a pleasure knowing Hearley Dockham. Hearley represented all that is good in ranching and community service, and being a good citizen. He will be missed.
