I was not ready to say goodbye to my dear friend, Mickey Gamble. Though we were separated by space and time during the past several years, even as years went by, whenever we did meet, it was as though we had never been apart. He was a kind and gentle person, loyal to his friends and family. My mind is tangled with my sorrow and the love I hold in my heart for the Gamble family. There is a poem that reminds me of something Mick might have said to anyone who is feeling the pain. It's titiled Remberance and the last two lines say "It's by far greater that you forget and smile than to remember and be sad.

Because of Mickey Gamble, my life is far richer in so many things, inspiration, love, gentleness, and yes toughness. I worked for him for 4 years but I knew Mickey for decades. Mickey was a leader in so many ways. And he cared for people and worked to make their lives better. Of course, Kelly, Kimmy, Liesl and the rest of his family knows this, but I wanted to say it. Happy trails. Rememberance.
